History of LA4C

LA4C is a non-profit organization featuring a Christian children's choir dedicated to spreading the gospel in a funfilled, committed choir. LA4C was founded in 1994 by the director Peggy Richmond.

Currently, we have about 150 choir members from the ages of the nine to thirteen and our ultimate goal is to reach 1,000 members. The members represent virtually every cultural, economic, and Christian denomination which makes up our diverse and exciting county.

The choir members are taught that they are "Ministers of the Gospel" wherever they go and that God calls them to share their gift of music for the edifying of others.

LA4C has performed in many remarkable venues. In July 2001, LA4C was invited to be the only children's choir representing the State of California in Washington, DC for our nation's "225th Anniversary of our Nation's Independence Celebration." LA4C performed at Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and Magic Mountain countless times over the years. They have also appeared on television shows such as "The Home and Family Show," KCET's Storytime, and The Carol Lawrence Show on TBN. During the holidays, LA4C sings at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for their Christmas Program that airs live on KCET every Christmas Eve and Christmas day, On Easter, the children make up the "Living Cross" in their annual Easter Sunrise Service at the Hollywood Bowl. LA4C completed their first CD in 1999 which is available for your enjoyment. The choir also performs for many local organizations such as The Rescue Mission, the San Fernando Valley Fair, Habitat for Humanity, and other church functions.

In July 2004, LA4C sang at the International Canterbury Children's Choir Festival in England. During the same tour, LA4C sang in Paris, France at such venues as the UNESCO building and the Luxemburg Gardens. Not to mention, the participants were able to tour around and see amazing sights that can't be viewed anywhere else!

The choir also sang in Salzburg and Vienna, Austria for the 250th Mozart Birthday Anniversary Celebration in the summer of 2006. Also, they sang in other smaller cathedrals and churches between Germany, Austria, and Italy. They experienced a wonderful time filled with music and unparallelled sights that must be seen.

And what is now seems to be a great tradition, LA4C was invited to sing at the Somerset International Youth Choral Festival in July 2008. Everyone had a lovely time and enjoyed experiences that will never be forgotten.

To continue our international adventures, LA4C performed at the American Celebration of Music in France. Other performances in Belgium and the Netherlands were done as well.

Even with all these events and accomplishments under our belt, we are always excited and anxious for more fun, friends, and fellowship with God! Join us for our 2010-2011 season!
